Postgraduate taught options include a range of courses, depending on the subject area, and take for one-year of full-time study and two years part-time, with some exceptions. Doctorate qualifications (PhDs) take three to four years of full-time study and up to seven years of part-time study to complete.
All courses have their own specific entry requirements. Students should check the course page on the university’s website to get the specific requirements for their chosen study programme.
For entry to most postgraduate taught courses, students will usually hold an undergraduate degree, however some programmes will consider relevant professional experience and qualifications. For a research programme, students will usually require an undergraduate degree with a 2:1 classification or higher, some taught courses will also require the same minimum grade.
However, students who do not meet the minimum requirements, or who are returning to study following a period spent in employment, are advised to apply anyway if they believe they have sufficient experience to make them a worthy candidate.
While the university is a bilingual institution that encourages applications in both English and Welsh, most courses are taught in English, with a selection available through the medium of Welsh. International students will be required to provide test scores showing their capability with the English language.
