Brunel

Law (thick sandwich) LLB (Hons)

Brunel University

Jamie, May 2010

Overall score

The night life at Brunel is pretty good. The Academy and Locos play the best music and always hold really good nights out. As a law student, I found the administrators to be rude and unhelpful. I wouldn't study law at Brunel, maybe something else like Business because the business school help and support thier students. Whereas Law school need to work on that.

Study experience

I thought there would be lots of essays and assessments prior to main exams, but there weren't. All the work we do is towards our degree therefore, there is no room for practice. the seminar work isn't marked so some teachers go through the questions as a discussion.
The only advice I can give is try and see tutors before your coursework question is released so any questions/problems can be dealt with then. Because once courseworks are set, the teachers can't help unless its very generic advice.

Facilities

Library is pants. There needs to be a designated study room because it is too noisy. The silent room are good but there is only limited spaces avalible. Finding a computer is hard most of the time.
Sports facilities are really good, there is a gym and dance studio. Bars are really good-food is decent most of the time.

Postgraduate life

There are plenty of clubs but i didn't join any.

Football, meet alot of quality people, plus the football tour was really good.

Job prospects

Jobs prospects are not that great, but think Brunel is well respected.
