Postgraduate Loughborough University reviews
Overall score
I decided to do a master's as i wanted to continue studying my subject in greater depth. I found the course interesting and enjoyable and i would definitely recommend it.
Study experience
Lecture and seminars were informative and challenging and we were given lots of free reign to pursue our own individual interests.
Facilities
All excellent, and easily accessible on one campus.
Postgraduate life
Lecturers and students socialised out of lecture time and the course was an opportunity to meet like-minded people. The university campus and hall life is great, although i lived in a house during my MA.
Job prospects
I think having a master's has been useful in interviews and so on. I didn't really utilise the university career's service as much as i could have.

Overall score
My one year spent as a masters student at loughborough has been enjoyable and memorable. The uni has a good reputation (though some people outside Leicester haven't heard of the name before!) in engineering circles. Beautiful campus and excellent facilities.
Study experience
My course had only 30 days of classes for the year, but every second of them was interesting and informative. 40% of classes were handled by engineers from Ford, Lotus, Jaguar, etc.
Facilities
Library is excellent. Always found more computers than users in my department. Lots of football and cricket pitches to keep sports people happy.
Postgraduate life
There are clubs, but very few appealed to me. The ones I wanted took very few members.
Job prospects
All my EU friends found jobs within a month of completing their studies. Well, I can't blame the uni for my work permit toubles, but organisations do respect the Loughborough brand name.

Overall score
I was at Loughborough for my BA and my MA degree. The fact that I stayed on is all down to the wonderful experience I had/have there. There is something for everyone at Loughborough. Most importantly you need to be able to work hard, keep up, and, if you're a fresher especially, party hard.
Study experience
The tutors are wonderful. Very supportive, and it's a nice, cosy and friendly environment. You will be expected to work hard, and compete, but help is always there if you need it.
Facilities
I spend a lot of time in the Library, and find the staff very helpful, and the selection very generous. There has only been a few times when the library didn't hold what I needed: and they were able to order it in for me.
There aren't too many computers, and they are always taken, especially around exam/dissertation time. You need to get there early (like 7:30am) to snag one during these times (or stay really late).
Postgraduate life
I gave this a six only because these weren't my thing. I didn't join any because I didn't want to. However, the selction is immense, and I know people who had a lot of fun doing so. If you're into this sort of thing, you will find many, many options.
Job prospects
I wouldn't leave Loughborough for the world. However, I feel like I gained confidence and useful skills at Loughborough that will last for life, and help me get that job when the time comes.
