Work Hard, Enjoy Life and Be rewarded

Mechatronics MSc

King's College London (University Of London)

Alex, May 2010

Overall score

My graduation was in january 2010 from King's College London. After taking an MEng Engineering cours I found it a very rewarding and rich experience with tonnes of opportunities, and would recommend this uni to those who think they have what it atkes.

At King's , you are not only expected to work hard but you need to develop some core trasferable skills that have been developed by one of the leading lecturers in uni. My own experience is in Engineering, and I worked around 40 hours a week most of the time. The vacations are longer but usually loaded with work. you will have to work under pressure.

On a positive note there is flexibity in the time table. Exams take place at the end of each year so you get some time to revise and not be interrupted by lab work. It is possible, to move between Engineering subject areas , if you find your original choices are no longer suitable.

Study experience

My course was exactly as I thought as I researched well before joining. It is important to be dedicated but you should also learn how to network with other students and professors

Facilities

There is a gym with all the sports facilities you will need it only costs £140 throughout the year. The Maughan library is amazing,it's openning times are round the clock in the exams periods.

Postgraduate life

There are also many ways to get away from work - clubs and societies abound at college and university level for pretty much any activity you can imagine. Fortunately, facilities are provided at college as well as university (UNIVERSITY OF lONDON) level as there is a central student facility.

Job prospects

I have decided to work after I finished my course, and in the process of job hunting I have recieved help not only from the dedicated team of experts at the careers services but also from my lecturers and students who were willing to point me to the right direction. the career service is well established and it helps with everything ranging from CV to conducting mock interviews.
