History of Art: History, Theory and Display MSc
University Of Edinburgh
Details Not Given, March 2010Overall score
An academically strong university set in an inviting but expensive city. However, the University undoubtedly has its flaws.
Study experience
A fairly strong History of Art programme, but slightly over-taught. Certain aspects of the programme would benefit from better organisation. However, the Department consists of well-versed, knowlegeable lecturers.
Facilities
A fairly good main library. Stocked with a large collection of resources. However, it lags a bit technologically and lacks sufficient study space for such a large student body. Individual school libraries could use updating and an increased amount of resources.
Postgraduate life
Didn't join any clubs or society. As a postgraduate, I lacked the time. However, the University appears to offer a wide variety of societies and clubs, and allows students to form their own if one does not already exist for a particular interest.
Job prospects
The University of Edinburgh holds a solid reputation and provides a solid background for future employment and continued study. Very few networking opportunities though.
