Master of Science(MSc.) Education for Sustainability
London South Bank University
Olalekan Elijah, April 2009Overall score
Study experience
I am an MSc. student of Education for Sustainability at the London South Bank University,Elephant and Castle,London. I attend a Day-School,one Saturday in a month The MSc EfS is a very good course. It is a course for this contemporary World. It is an hybrid of development and environmental education. Before I joined the course,I thought the course was an ordinary study of environmental education. But the course has been upgraded to reflect sustainability which addresses environment, society and economy combined. This makes the course more robust. It also clarifies misconceptions around sustainable development which is more or less western in outlook. My Tutors are fantastic. They are exceptional brilliant professors of the discipline. They are equally very caring and accessible. They have "listening ears" After a marrathon Day-School,one Saturday in a month,10am to 6pm,I am loaded with a Unit Study Guide,A Unit Reader and some supplementary readers, which are contemporary books of reputable authorship and "publishership".In between, there is a Day-school follow-up,which is conducted by my Course Tutor, once in a month. Then I write an essay of between 2500-3000 words. There are 8 Units. One per month.
Facilities
My College is an accredited University;highly recognised for teaching, research and 5 community services. The campus is very clean and tidy.It is well laid out.The available land have been amazingly maximised(little land, big, magnificient spacious structures well managed for posterity) . There are good lecture theatres, offices and halls that are of contemporary technological built. The Abbey Conference and the Keyworth Centres are few examples of Lecture facilities that we use for our lectures and follow ups.Our course office is also 5ly located a Technopark building.
Postgraduate life
Yes I do.If I finish this course,I will enrol a PhD. The other students have been wonderful. They are all business(study-minded.They are looking to become what the want to be as the slogan of the University - "Become what you want to be". Yes,plenty of friends, that I visit, call and have study dicussion-group with.
