Education (Post Primary) - Pgcert
University Of Ulster
Lynda, August 2007Overall score
UU is really a great University! The thing I felt was most benificial was that there were 4 campuses spread throughout the province so I could access resources no matter where I was! It would be good to have a little more contact between the campuses and options of studying course like mine (PGCE) from any campus at anytime - possibly weblinked lectures?
Study experience
We had a great amount of support and all lecturers and support staff gave us loads of encouragement and advise - real personal one to one experience
Facilities
Great sports facilities in J'town and always a puter available somewhere in the Uni - even if it was a sneaky session in a lab! ;)
Postgraduate life
Althought I didnt use too many of these there seemed to be no end of clubs advertised throughout the Uni - I thought the cross cultural events were a great idea.
Job prospects
I am the only one in my graduating class from PGCE T&D that does not have a teaching post lined up for Sept - however there is plenty of sub work and teaching in general is a great profession for good job prospect - depending on subject of course
