University Of Derby
Sarah, December 2007Overall score
I find Derby a very welcoming Uni, the staff are always helpful and the main campus has every crucial facility a uni needs. Derby offers a vast range of courses to suit all interests and ambitions. Derby also has 3 campus' including the brand new Markeaton campus which is decked out with the latest technology for art, music and technology.
Study experience
The courses are great.... lectures can be good but then again who ever truly enjoyed lectures. However lecturers try hard to ensure lectures are intersting and 100% beneficial.
Facilities
The main one I use is the Library and it's brilliant, there is always the right book on the shelf that I need and plenty of them. Plus its big, light and spacious.
Postgraduate life
Derby has an endless list of socities there is always something for everyone, in fact students are often spoilt for choice.

It's good, the uni is pretty good and in a nice area.
Study experience
It's a very very busy course. Only do it if you're serious about teaching.
Facilities
The uni facilities are really good, with 24hr computer access should you not have a computer.
Postgraduate life
Reasonable selection, though with the pgce course there isn't much time to get involved.
Job prospects
The course will help me gain QTS status which will enable me to teach.

Facilities
Good library and computers but not enough books!
Postgraduate life
They have lots of clubs but I am not part of any - am very busy lady!
