Nursing MSc
Edinburgh Napier University
Charlotte, December 2007Overall score
I am Loving it. I mety loads of fab people, on a brilliant course and the university facilties are excellent. All campuses are easily acessable from all around edinburgh.
My biggest bit of advice is do not be shy, be yourself and take everything as it comes.
Study experience
For me the lecture times are perfect. Plenty of time off easy to understand and really no need for improvemment.
Facilities
Fab library - has everything there. Thosusand of comps. No bar in the campuses (i think they should bring that up in the senate).
Postgraduate life
O.M.G... there are loads of clubs and societies for anything you you can think of, from hockey and football to drama and even a "dungeons and dragons" type club. And if there is any other club you can think of starting up, just ask your class rep to bring it up at the senate.
Job prospects
MY course basically guarrentees me a career when I graduate... thanks. :)

University Of The West Of Scotland
Gail, May 2010Overall score
UWS has recently gone through many changes for the better, having studied my under graduate there and having a year away from the university I can say it has improved.
The uni is easy to navigate around and has some great facilities. It is easy to walk to from train station and bus station and is near the local shops.
Having onlyever attended this uni I cannot say that it is better than any other uni's near by however, I have enjoyed my 5 years I have studied here.
Study experience
I felt I have prefered the second semester to the first, the first sem was slow and very theoritical while second sem involves a practical placement which was useful in understanding aspects of first sem.
Lectures are all put online so if you miss anything you an get the basic points which is helpful. How much detail in online notes depends on the lecturer, as is how much other reading material that is put online.
Lectures were usually very informative and helpful for completing coursework.
I would advise future students to read what the lecturers advise, anything that is put online or suggested in lectures.
Facilities
The library has recently been adapted to have a cafe downstairs which is handy if your spending a lot of time there to catch quick break. There is a quiet study area with computers and a group study area. Library staff are very helpful. There is also a seperate computer area for all students and most schools have their own labs for their students to use.
There is a gym however it is not joined the main campus and is a bit further out, would need to get a bus to get there. The union is right across the road from the main building and library, prices are reasonable and usually is busy
Postgraduate life
Due to a very busy timetable I never experienced any clubs, however thre were always posters advertising different clubs.
Job prospects
I have got a job afer doing my post grad course.
