This course covers a broad range of subject areas, from the latest semiconductor fabrication technology, right across to biological and medical applications, with the emphasis throughout on characterisation and control of materials at the nanoscale. The focus will be on both the techniques necessary for scientific investigation at these very small dimensions, and the very latest research developments in this rapidly evolving area. The full-time MRes will consist of formal lectures, plus a yearlong project in the newly established Multidisciplinary Nanotechnology Centre within the School of Engineering. A key part of this course will be the ability to gain hands-on experience of state-of-the-art fabrication and characterisation techniques.
Necessary qualifications:
Minimum of a 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in a related subject, typically Engineering or Physics.
This course costs:
For 2007/8 entry course fees were £3,240 per annum full time for EU/home students. Course fees are subject to change and students are advised to check the current details with the course provider before enrolling on this course.
