Management and Changing Organisations (10 Credits) - Core

Management and change in organisations is underpinned by human behaviour in the workplace. This module is concerned with key concepts in understanding behaviour, and how these key concepts inform better management practice and change in organisations. Developing an awareness of behaviour and managing change is fundamental to managers' personal effectiveness, career progress and the effectiveness of those they manage. Understanding behaviour and change also has many links to human resources management, aspects of operations management and strategic management.

International Economic Environment (10 Credits) - Core

The module is split into two parts. The first microeconomic part focuses on the immediate business environment and examines the functioning of markets and the impact of location on business behaviour and performance. The secondmacroeconomic part focuses on the broader business environment and examines the functioning of national economies and the global economy as a whole. Throughout, economic theory will be strongly related to past and current economic events.

Strategy and Leadership (10 Credits) - Core

This module using theoretical frameworks, along with significant investigation of the real world to allow managers to gain a wider perceptive of what strategy really is and why it is critical to their leadership of organisations.Strategy comes first; all other aspects of business must follow.  Once the strategy is right other dimensions of the successful business can be put in place.  Clearly, it is critical that any organisational leader must understand strategy and the ability to craft sound strategy.
