More information:
The programme aims to attract a wide variety of practitioners operating within the areas of osteoporosis and falls management. Building on their existing level of health and social care, students will gain a competency based award related to their own clinical practice in order to further advance their critical evaluative skills in these areas. Students will be actively encouraged to reflect on their own work-based area and consider a broad range of care available to clients/patients. Such critical evaluation will utilise the current health policies based on proven evidence based practice. Students are required to successfully complete four modules including three core modules on using research skills in the workplace and overall introductions into the subject areas of osteoporosis and falls. Optional modules include a variety of topics ranging from health improvement to the science and instrumentation of bone densitometry. The programme aims to provide practitioners with an understanding of the complex bone disease and/or falls management in order to offer effective patient diagnosis, care and management.
