Research areas: computer modelling of crop growth, weed population dynamics, pest and disease epidemiology, crop loss assessment, nitrogen (N) requirements of crops; infection strategies, phylloplane interactions, fungal pathogens; plant growth regulators, biochemistry of grain development and germination, effects of environmental stress on crop growth, genotype environment interactions and crop quality, postharvest technology; differential viability of genotypes, genetic change in breeding programmes, epigenetic effects of tissue culture, seed biology; soil N dynamics, N cycling in organic systems.
Necessary qualifications:
Good Honours degree or equivalent.
