The facilities are really good, i.e. computing, research library and great support staff.
The law department has a wide range of resources.
Canterbury is not very busy socially in the city, but there are always events on campus.
Study experience
Staff had office hours to approach them. Handouts are good.
Facilities
Postgraduate life
There are clubs for all types of people and you are able to make your own fairly easily. There are lots of society events.

great campus, great downtown which is right down the hill, excellent profs, challenging coursework, super nightlife ... AND there are lots of quiet places and various spaces for study. :)
Study experience
6 hours of lectures per week. my courses were super interesting: conflict studies. lecturers and profs are always available in office hours and also make appointments outside of that. don't skip the seminars!
Facilities
gym is awesome, tons of bars and food on campus, we have a theatre, a cinema, a nightclub with 1000 capacity (the VENUE!!), library is good! (my experience is with politics/social science)
Postgraduate life
best thing about clubs are the lecture events and the parties afterwards. also, just the parties and of course, free drinks and food!!
Job prospects
I'm doing the MA in ICA and this is a top program on a global level, gaining more recognition each year. Job prospects are excellent!

Law Llb (Hons)
University Of Kent
Mikal, March 2007Overall score
Am in the last fortnight of my law degree. This has been 3 years of the most incredible growth for me. A mature student, I immersed myself fully. Being here has stretched me to the edge of my ability, and maybe beyond at times. I have emerged from being a scatty, unboundaried 'flapper' to a calmer, wiser confident public speaker. I now have real ability to think of the right argument, quickly.
I am surrounded by dedicated law lecturers and seminar leaders who delight me with their passion for the law. I now feel that passion and it makes me want to get out of bed each day.
The internet is fully used. For example, we are able to download the same recorded lecture, after listening to it live, or pick it up if we missed it. This is incredibly helpful to the hugh challenge of learning the law.
The Kent Law Clinic is the real cherry on top of a fabulous pie. The Director has this uncanny knack of making every student feel valued and powerful.
All the Law Clinic professional staff are encouraging, welcoming and incredibly intelligent yet, patient and understanding, with strong work ethics and determination to perform an outstanding public legal service to the local community. It is first-class legal teaching. And it is an award-winning pro-bono Clinic.
I love Canterbury. It's classy, historic, near London, the continent, the airports and the sea.
The opportunities here are immense. Within the whole university and especially the law school (and its related societies), I could have travelled to the Royal Courts of Justice, and the European Court of Human Rights. I debated the rights and wrongs of fingerprinting kids, I represented a real client in a real Appeals Tribunal, I spoke publically in a Critical Law Conference, I sat on 2 Committees, one as student Rep,.... The list is endless. I have had an incredible journey, experienced brilliant teaching in a beautiful location with first class facitilies.
For me, I am proud to be part of the Kent Law Clinic and Kent Law School both within and part of the University of Kent. I could not recommend a law degree at Kent more hightly enough.
Study experience
First year - academically tough and around 12-14 contact hours.
Second year - getting used to the language, court reports, thinking etc. Around 8 -10 contact hours p/w.
Third year - easy, peasy... Huh! no, but not as hard as the first 2 years.
Am loving it. It's not difficult. there's just lots of it.
Facilities
I recommend buying all the main texts and having your own copy. You can sell them in Blackwells, the campus bookshop at the end of each year, and get back 40%.
Postgraduate life
Dozens and dozens are available. Your imagination is probably the only limit.
I personally am a member of the Salsa Soc. (dance), Temple Soc.(for would be barristers), ELSA (european law students) and Law Coc (for would be solicitors)
Job prospects
Careers Service is first class.
Much help and support.
