The Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) PgCert/PgDip/MSc at University Of Salford is a 6-24 months full time course. On successful completion candidates will be awarded the following qualification: MSc by University of Salford. The course will be assessed as follows: You will experience a variety of teaching, learning and assessment methods including lectures, seminars, tutorials, case studies, group and individual projects, examinations and reports. For students undertaking the programme through distance learning delivery the programme is delivered through interactions based around the University's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). All modules are assessed through a combination of assessment items. These assessment activities focus on the application of knowledge and ideas to practice. Students are expected to apply knowledge and understanding in a critical and interpretive manner and not simply recite or repeat their lecture. Assessment methods vary but will generally include a formal examination and a piece of fully referenced coursework such as an assignment or a portfolio. For students unfamiliar with this style of scholarship workshops and training is provided to ensure success with the assessment strategies in each of the modules in this programme. The School offers the support of an achievement coach as well as ready access to workshops regular organised by the University's Information and Learning Services..

The programme aims to equip food professionals with the skills necessary to design, implement and audit HACCP systems in order to meet current and future legislative requirements and secure safe food chain. The course includes modules: HACCP Development; HACCP Implementation; HACCP Problem Solving; HACCP Management; Food Safety Information Systems; Microbiological Risk Analysis; Food Law for HACCP; Research Methods.
Necessary qualifications:
Good Honours degree, or professional equivalent; industrial experience.
