Dr Bronwen Evans, Programme Director for the MRes in Speech, Language and Cognition, explains what she looks for in prospective students and the future pathways for those who complete the course. Post graduation the majority of students continue into further academic research or develop current professional careers within the NHS. However, the skills learnt, such as the ability to examine data sets, are transferable and highly prized and students have a wide range of career opportunities. Applicants must demonstrate they have had previous research experience and have a clear idea of what they want to gain out of the course.
