Joane Tyler, lecturer in Radio Production at Bournemouth University’s Media School, gives an introduction to the facilities available to students studying on the MA Radio Production programme. The studio suite at the Media School includes a news room and an audio lab, and students are also taught software editing in these facilities. The School is open 24-hours a day, enabling students to work round the clock at their convenience. On graduation, students are industry-ready and enter a wide range of roles, such as producing audio for the gaming industry, the radio, and the BBC, while others set up their own companies. The School sees a high success rate and many students find employment not long after graduation. Applicants must be able to demonstrate passion and an engagement with radio; any relevant experience would prove helpful to gain entry to the programme.
