Professor Jonathan Michie, Director of the Department for Continuing Education, explains that many students use the opportunity to study with the Department of Continuing Education to further their current careers, maybe changing focus slightly, whereas others become so enlighten by their subject they change career direction altogether. Applicants do not necessarily need to have completed an undergraduate degree. Instead, the department must be able to see that the students have an unfulfilled potential which can be reached with the help of education from Oxford.
