Derrick Chong - Applicants

Last Updated:

In terms of what we look for in all applicants, we want somebody who is highly motivated. We also want somebody who is academically able. In addition, we will look at personal qualities. So, this may mean for a pre-experienced student, somebody who's been involved in the sporting or cultural life of their university as an undergraduate student.

We're essentially looking at somebody who's very well rounded. Management, in essence, is about working with individuals and groups of peers in organizations and we look at that competency in vetting applications. So, yes, academic vigor is important in terms of vetting the applications but we're also looking at how we can help somebody develop as a person. So, that's something else that's important in terms of the overall scrutiny of applications.
