Dr Karl Michael Schmidt, Director of Postgraduate Research Studies, gives an overview of postgraduate study at the Cardiff School of Mathematics. The department’s expertise range greatly, from analysis of deferential equations, to mathematical finance. Other than gaining field specific skills, students will learn a broad understanding of maths and will transferable develop skills that are essential for a career in academia.
