In this video, Professor Emily Simonoff gives us an overview of the Childhood and Adolescent Psychiatry courses available at King’s College London, which can be taken as a MPhil, PhD or MD(Res) programme. The department is interested in the causes of mental health disorders, as well as the treatment and prevention of these disorders in children and adolescents.
The video also explores the faculty in the department and how they research child mental health disorders, along with the resources available for students and researchers. The department is also involved in clinical trials surrounding child mental health disorders and the treatments.
Professor Emily Simonoff is the Head the Department of Childhood and Adolescent Psychiatry at King’s College London, as well as the Department and Academic Lead for the CAMHS Clinical Academic Group in King’s Health Partners. Her research interests include autism, ADHD, antisocial behaviour, intellectual disability, genetics and epidemiology.
