Engineering Management MSc

Overall Rating

Although blended course is a great way of teaching, during a year I had been studying, it had gone worse and worse in the hands of disorganized and ineffective system/administration of the university. Usually, it felt like I was studying in a 'Mickey Mouse University'.

However, all had begun so well with the induction and first module. But recurrence of the same issues, unwillingness to find solutions despite your constructive behaviour, decreasing quality of enrolled students/campus lectures and inappropriate attitude of some staff led to lots of lost time and ineffective education.

In the end, it seems like they have accepted some of their faults recently about not hearing the voice of their students. I hope they could improve their quality assurance as the university promise a great potential in fact.

Uni Facilities

+Berlin Campus is located in a central place, close to many museums, libraries etc.
+Building is modern and new.
-Canteen was available but not in operation.
-Access to classrooms and printer room with magnetic card was problematic.
-Campus library was quite small and sources were mostly not related to mentioned course.
-Any kind of sport/fitness centre is not available.

Course and Lecturers

Although the idea of blended learning is good, it was mostly useless as campus lectures were generally repetition of online materials. And online materials are not up-to-date, some external links are broken ( you can report it but they are renewed once your module has finished...) and some sources are not reliable which are simply taken by blogs. Having said this, structure of content and the whole course were appropriate.

City Life

Yes, it is located in a central place. However, the cost of accommodation in the surrounding of campus is expensive.

Job Prospects

Nothing. You need to work hard and do it by yourself.

Student Support

Tutors were mostly good and holder of years of experience in their area. Getting feedback regarding classes was possible but it was not almost at all about assessments.

Personal counselling or any kind of career assistance services were not available.

Some of student support team were not suitable to their roles and even were disrespectful/patronizing. We were treated sometimes as if we were children, not adults.

Issues of course can arise, however, they were mostly repeated even though it is several times reported in a constructive way and promised to be fixed.
