Best experience was with a support staff member assisting me in getting to my dorm. The Halls Office forgot to actually prepare my COVID package upon arrival and this wonderful security support staff ran through the rain get an emergency pack and food pack for me. The challenge was the Halls Office staff asked me to collect my keys the next day saying it was allowed but one of the admin staff felt he needed to be an *** and cuss me out for no reason. Another staff member cringed and it was her reaction that may have stopped him.
I have also experienced a few racist encounter at in Bangor from non-students. The officer in charge of relations were able to respond. The challenge though is that one of the lecturers' who encouraged me to report haggled me for coming to her class late before I could remind her that I mentioned I would be having a meeting with the school official. Dont get me wrong the University on a whole is a good one facilities are generally excellent, the people in the University are generally nice and professional. The challenge when they get it wrong they get wrong in very subtle but very big ways. I want to actually give a round of applause to the head of School of Natural Sciences for listening and the person who is in charge of race relations for checking in on me. The lady at the security booth for helping me when I couldnt get my keys for my room and getting me my food and emergency pack when I arrived and the person who helped me get medication when I was in severe pain when I was approaching field trip week.

The support staff is awesome. Only had 1 bad experience with 1 person in the Halls Office with a person I later found out that the other persons who work with him doesnt like him much but I was asked to tolerate him because he mayve suffering from social anxitey (my interpretation of what was said).

The rooms are okay some of my friends have experienced mouldy rooms. Mine had few signs of my damage on the bathroom door where the paint is discoloured. I did report the toilet seat was broken when I got here and maintenance literally came is about an hour and fixed in like 5 minutes. They were very responsive.

The internet access is okay it does get glitchy once in awhile but when I do report it IT does tend to respond.
