BANGOR UNIVERSITY
Overall Rating

Here are some of the best and worst aspects of studying at Bangor University in Wales:

Best Aspects:

Beautiful campus set in a scenic location between the mountains and the sea. The natural beauty of the area is a major draw.
Strong reputation for certain programs like Marine Sciences, Electronic Engineering, and Welsh Language studies.
Small class sizes mean more individual attention and support from professors.
Lots of clubs and societies to get involved in student life.

Relatively low cost of living compared to other parts of the UK.
Worst Aspects:

Remote location means limited options for nightlife, shopping, restaurants compared to bigger cities.
Limited public transportation options to get around without a car.
Older campus facilities and halls of residence in need of upgrading.
Weather can be rainy/grey due to coastal location.
Not as ethnically diverse student population as other UK universities.
Job prospects limited for graduates who want to stay local after university.

Overall Bangor provides a close-knit university experience in a beautiful setting, but its remote location presents some drawbacks. The small size and scenic Welsh setting appeals to some students but not others.
