BOURNEMOUTH UNIVERSITY
Overall Rating

For the most part, I am really enjoying my time at Bournemouth University. The really lovely teaching staff are the best feature of uni life, and the town just can't be beaten!

Student Union

SU is very small, but current building work will change this for future students. The food is very reasonably priced and there is a choice of a few places to eat. I haven't been out in the evenings at the union as I live further away, so I can't comment on the nightlife.

Clubs and Societies

There is a wide range of clubs and societies although I only joined one as I'm studying full time and working too, so I don't have much available time. There does appear to be something for everyone.

Accommodation

I live in private rented accommodation so I can't comment

Uni Facilities

Student Union is currently very small, but there is building work going on. Library and online resources are perfectly adequate for what we need. The IT teaching rooms are less well equipped. There is no parking available on campus which is a real inconvenience.

Course and Lecturers

Very approachable, friendly, helpful lecturers. Mixed levels of teaching, some are excellent.

City Life

Bournemouth is a great place to live! The town centre has all you need and a good vibe, the beaches are beautiful and the surrounding area could take an eternity to explore!

Job Prospects

It's a bit early to tell, but it looks promising. I have met a couple of previous students who are doing well. There was a career development module as part of the course, although I'm not sure it added value in terms of opening doors, it was more looking at CV writing, and improving our writing and communication skills.

Student Support

There is lots of support - a team for learners with additional needs, lots of help from our programme leaders and tutors. My only criticism is that sometimes the uni is perhaps too helpful and students can take advantage of this which is frustrating for other students.

Having said what you have said would you recommend your uni?
