BRUNEL UNIVERSITY OF LONDON
Overall Rating

If you remove the course I studied, the university experience was great, I made many friends, tried many sport and enjoyed the nightlife there.
However the quality of the course reduced the overall experience of university. It would be great for Brunel to try and improve its engineering department, especially the quality of teaching.

Student Union

Clubs and Societies

Sport is great here. You can do many things.

Accommodation

I lived off campus in a house. The place was great and in a safe area. Rooms were big. Wifi was great.

Uni Facilities

I never used the library because the computers were incredibly slow and the place was always packed out.
I chose to use the engineering towers computer rooms. These are great when you're using them. However when they get busy during the day it's terrible because only certain computers have the software you want, so you can't always access things.

Course and Lecturers

Very poorly taught course. Worst decision I made.
80% of the lecturers just read off the slides. The slides are mostly just paragraphs of information which don't make much sense.
I had to teach myself all of the modules a month prior to the exams. I found that online resources I found on Google were much better at teaching me.
Assignment grades take weeks to be released. I had to wait 7 months for my January exam grades. (No reason for this to have take so long, there were less than 40 people taking the exam).

City Life

Locally there isn't loads to do, but a 50min tube into central London offers a lot.

Job Prospects

Even though i think the quality of teaching at the university (for the engineering department) is poor, somehow the name "Brunel University" still has a big reputation in the engineering world, so employers highly regard you.

Student Support

Wellbeing support is brilliant and very helpful.
Although it can be slow because a lot of people are using it.
