Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at Brunel University of London

Overall University is great having all the support and events required for the wellbeing of students. Sometimes seats don’t work or classroom changes at the last moment that can be fixed for future inconvenience for the students and teachers also. read full review

Positive aspects: University buildings, classrooms, teachers. Negative aspects: University location, support for students.
The start time of morning classes has changed due to the long distance for students. More support for students.

Great services and location—it has a pleasant suburban feel (and is much less expensive than the city!) but it’s still very easy to access central London from here, as well as Heathrow. The ways I can get student support were very clearly explained at orientation. The campus is nice, though the design of some buildings feels a little dated. I’ve also enjoyed a lot of the events, but it would be nice if more of them were free or lower cost. read full review
Being at Brunel University has been a transformative experience so far. From the moment I arrived, I’ve felt a mix of excitement and challenge, and as I continue my studies, I realize how much the university has contributed to my growth—not only academically but also personally.

The campus itself is one of the things that immediately drew me in. It’s modern and well-equipped, offering everything I need to excel in my studies, whether that’s access to cutting-edge facilities or quiet spaces for deep focus. There's a real sense of balance on campus—between work and relaxation, between modernity and nature. The environment fosters productivity while also giving me room to breathe.

Academically, I’ve been pushed in ways I didn’t expect. The courses here are challenging, but they provide me with the tools I need to think critically and solve real-world problems. What stands out to me is the balance between theory and practice. There’s always an emphasis on applying what I learn to actual situations, which makes the material feel relevant and tangible. The faculty are knowledgeable and approachable, always willing to offer support when needed. Their passion for their subjects makes it easy to engage with the material, and I’ve found myself becoming more excited and invested in my field of study as a result.

The university places a lot of emphasis on preparing students for the future, not just in terms of academic achievement but also in terms of professional readiness. There are countless opportunities for career development—whether that’s through workshops, networking events, or connections with industry professionals. The chance to apply what I’ve learned in real-world settings has been invaluable, and it’s something that has helped me start thinking seriously about the future and the steps I need to take to achieve my goals.

Beyond academics, Brunel offers a lively and diverse student life. It’s easy to find a group of like-minded people, and I’ve been able to get involved in activities and events that have helped me grow socially and personally. The diversity on campus has been particularly enriching, allowing me to interact with students from all walks of life and learn from their perspectives. Whether through societies, clubs, or casual hangouts, I’ve found plenty of ways to engage with the campus community.

Another big benefit of being at Brunel is its proximity to London. While I focus on my studies, being so close to the city gives me access to a wealth of opportunities outside of university life. Whether it’s cultural events, career opportunities, or just exploring the city, London has added an exciting dimension to my time at Brunel.

Of course, there have been challenges along the way. Managing coursework, deadlines, and life outside of university can be overwhelming at times. But what I’ve found most helpful is the strong support system at Brunel. Whether it’s academic help, advice on managing stress, or simply someone to talk to, I’ve never felt alone in navigating these challenges. The staff, faculty, and even fellow students have always been there when I’ve needed support.

As I continue my studies at Brunel, I’m looking forward to all the experiences and opportunities still ahead. It’s clear to me that my time here is shaping not just my academic career but my overall personal development. Brunel has given me the tools, the resources, and the confidence to take on the future with enthusiasm, and I’m excited to see where the rest of my time here will take me. read full review

Student support and resources are brilliant and accessible. However, I would say the quiet area in the library area is not quiet at all. There’s people always whispering and the door closing and opening can be heard. Doesn’t have own cubicle for privacy which means most of the time I’m starting at another student which is awkward. The chairs are also not comfortable for a long period of time spent in the library. It can also be quiet noisy as in outdoor sound can be heard, sometimes especially winter time now it’s a bit chilly inside the library. I still have to wear my jacket which is a bit heavy and not comfortable at times whilst I’m typing. Hope this can be improved soon. Thank you. read full review
