Course Summary

The MSc by Research in Geospatial Analysis, within the Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences, aims to develop researchers who are conceptually aware, who can utilise a range of cartographic and computing skills and methods, and who can practise and develop their own research capabilities, and disseminate that research in a meaningful way.

The course is ideal if you:

Assessment

The sole assessment for the MSc by Research is a thesis (25,000-30,000 words). Your thesis will be assessed by an external examiner and you must pass this component of the course to receive the award of MSc by Research.

Entry requirements

Students need a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree. Applications from students with less than a 2:2 will only be considered if appropriate experiential learning can be demonstrated, e.g. if they have been working in a research environment for some time.
