Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at Canterbury Christ Church University

The uni has not done enough promote collaboration and community during lockdown. The online platforms are glitchy and not up to the job of facilitating online teaching (e.g. blackboard's 'collaborate' cannot maintain functionality if multiple people turn on their web cam). read full review
I can't but help be disappointed in the university after training to become a teacher for months, participating in an immensely challenging schedule, them getting funding for having me on their programme and me working hours upon hours to do well and pass the course and at the end of it they lost my records. I couldn't begin to apply for teaching roles for months at which point I was committed to the first job I could get as I had to pay my rent! Never once received an apology, only excuses as to why this may have happened (the usual computer faults, or something). Only now a year later am I able to now get back into teaching and I sure as heck have a lot of anxiety about it. 10/10 would never for a second recommended CCCU for this course or anything at all to be honest. Poorly organised, lack of dedication to staff or students, unsupportive and quite frankly appalling. read full review
The best way to put it it has changed my life . I was a very spoiled girl with a list of dreams . I am an independent woman studying through her wild always evolving dreams read full review
In my opinion and on the light of the three years that I spent in CCCU, I don't think I would recommend it to any of my friends. This uni policy is to catch as many students as possible and forgets about the current students. A simple example of that is the absence of coach cards at student price as in the neighboring university (uni of Kent). Absence of post graduate offices for phd students of humanities and social sciences. Absence of real career opportunities ( both part and full-time jobs). After easing up the lock down in this covid issue, most universities in the UK have reopened their libraries and campus sites with respect to the social distancing and safety measures unlike CCU which is by this date (Sept 10th, 2020) still closed for what so ever activity. read full review
