Overview

Cardiff University is the oldest university in the capital of Wales. This Russell Group university has over 8,600 postgraduate students and was ranked 5th in the UK in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework. Cardiff has over 4,000 international (non-EU) students every year, with more than half of those pursuing postgraduate studies.

Its main Cathays Park campus is located in the city centre, with a second campus shared with the University Hospital Wales. There are a number of academic schools which are organised into three broader colleges:

  • College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

  • College of Physical Sciences and Engineering
