Course Summary

Overview

Make a substantial and original contribution to knowledge in the fields of education or social care. The School of Education and Social Care provides a thriving environment to education and social care researchers. We are committed to developing research in education, identities and inequalities which contribute to knowledge formation and make a difference to people’s lives and society.

The School’s activities are consistently underpinned by a dual concern for inclusion and excellence, yet are also diverse in terms of epistemological, theoretical and empirical foci. We engage with a range of topics related to identities and inequalities in education, including gender, sexuality, ethnicity, class, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and caring responsibilities, education for sustainability (including democracy, rights and participation), digital technology in education, arts in schools, and teachers' careers and identities.
