Bangor University is proud to introduce GLOBE, an innovative Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s programme in Global Change Ecology and Biodiversity Management. This collaborative endeavour, in partnership with Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa), and Universidad Autonoma de Tlaxcala (UATx), addresses the pressing global challenges posed by environmental changes and biodiversity loss.In an era where ecosystems are increasingly threatened by factors such as unsustainable land and sea use, overexploitation, climate change, pollution, and invasive species, the need for skilled professionals in biodiversity management has never been more critical. GLOBE is designed to cultivate academic excellence and global cooperation, providing students with comprehensive interdisciplinary training. The programme aligns with the European Union's Nature Restoration Law and Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, positioning the EU at the forefront of global conservation initiatives.Learning OutcomesGraduates of GLOBE will:Understand the drivers and impacts of global change on biodiversity.Acquire advanced skills in statistical analysis and modelling for conservation studies.Develop practical expertise in wildlife conservation techniques and conservation genetics.Gain insights into ecological sustainability, environmental governance, and the transition to a bioeconomy.Be proficient in communicating complex ecological concepts to diverse audiences.GLOBE aims to produce highly qualified graduates with an international perspective, ready to bridge the gap between stakeholders and policymakers in various sectors, including research, policy, consultancy, and activism.
