Course info

Master the skills that drive the world of accounting and finance.

Our MSc Accounting and Finance is designed to equip you with specialist knowledge in accounting and finance.

Whether you’re aiming to become a financial analyst, accountant, or pursue another role in the financial sector, this course gives you the expertise and practical skills you need to succeed.

With a suite of core and optional modules, you can shape the programme around your interests and choose the topics that matter most to your future. Or if you’re planning to qualify as a professional accountant, several modules are designed to match the professional level syllabus of the ACCA qualification. By choosing the right combination, you can prepare for key parts of the ACCA exams while completing your master’s degree.

Learn from our financial expert lecturers at Cardiff School of Management, who are not only academic thinkers and active researchers, but professionals sharing their own industry experience. Plus, take advantage of full access to the Financial Times online, one of the world’s most trusted financial resources, to help you understand the wider economic environment.

You will be taught by academically qualified and enthusiastic staff with research and consultancy experience and links to industry. Your high quality learning experience comprises lectures and discussions supported by group work, presentations, statistical computer labs and case studies. All modules are also supported by Moodle, the virtual learning environment.

There is a common shared spine within these programmes which overlaps with existing Masters level programmes within Cardiff School of Management. Consequently students will, for some modules, be taught with students on the MBA and MSc Financial Management programmes. The teaching team consider this a strength of the portfolio.
