Course Summary

The MSc/PGDip in Charity Accounting and Financial Management at Bayes Business School is a part-time program tailored for individuals aiming to advance their careers in charity finance, whether as managers, consultants, advisors, auditors, or independent examiners within the nonprofit sector. The curriculum combines academic rigor with practical application, covering key areas such as charity accounting, audit and taxation principles, financial management, and strategic issues facing charitable organizations. The program offers two entry points annually: an April intake for qualified Chartered Accountants from one of the five CCAB bodies who have qualified within the last five years or have current CPD records, and an October intake for all other applicants. Graduates are eligible for the ICAEW's Diploma in Charity Accounting (DChA), enhancing their professional credentials in the field.

The Postgraduate Diploma consists of five compulory modules that all students take which are common to all the five charity postgraduate courses. These provide the essential underpinning of management skills for the compulsory specialist modules. Upon successful completion of the diploma you can continue to the MSc Programme.

The MSc requires completion of the Research Methods for Managers module. This is followed by either: a further six months of personal, supervised research and the presentation of a research-based dissertation. Or alternatively, you can opt to take a taught Masters which allows you to choose specialist modules from one of the other charities programmes.
