You will combine the latest research and theory with your own professional experience on this master’s programme for practising radiographers. You will learn with expert practitioners and researchers who are leaders in their fields and contribute to knowledge that will improve the understanding and practice of radiography.

Who is this course for?

If you are a qualified radiographer working in or rotating through Computed Tomography and want to advance your clinical practice, this programme is ideal.

You will gain the advanced technical and professional knowledge you need to take your career forward to advanced practitioner level.

Teaching and assessment

The programme is organised on a part-time basis so you can build your studies around your current employment.

Depending on the modules you take, the taught elements of your studies could be on a one day per week basis or in short blocks of three to four days.

You will be able to access distance learning modules flexibly.

You will learn through a mix of methods, including:

  • formal lectures
  • seminars
  • tutorials
  • demonstrations/workshops
  • work based learning
  • self-directed study.

Career

This master’s degree will prepare you for the professional role of advanced practitioner, taking on a higher level of clinical responsibility and management of patients.

As your career progresses, you could consider specialising either in a particular area of radiography or working with a particular group of patients, such as stroke survivors or children.

You might also want to explore further academic study and research, progressing to PhD level and teaching.

Modules

You will develop an understanding of the principles, theory and epistemology of research and data analysis. You will be guided and supported to conduct research in practice by developing a pragmatic research proposal.
