Our Senior Leader Apprenticeship: Management and Leadership Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) programme is delivered in partnership with business advisory firm, Grant Thornton. The programme provides a distinctive and collaborative learning experience which develops students’ leadership and management capabilities enabling them to become reflective and evidence-based leaders of the future.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, which incorporates the Management and Leadership PgDip (Part I), successful students have the option to progress onto the Management and Leadership MSc (Part II), which enables them to cement their learning and complete a significant work-based project within their organisation. Graduates will have a deep understanding of contemporary business issues and a capacity to assume active leadership roles.

The Senior Leader Apprenticeship: Management and Leadership PgDip will enable you to develop your knowledge, skills and abilities while applying what you learn directly in your workplace. The programme will support your career progression, preparing you to successfully carry out senior leadership roles in the future.

You will work with accredited coaches, members of faculty and careers advisors throughout the course enabling you to:

  • Learn the techniques of effective team leadership
  • Become more sensitive to situations, cultures and contexts
  • Prepare to lead change and face future challenges.

Our Career services team offer: individual career consultations, speaker events, alumni networking, networking workshop, personal and executive career coaching, leadership assessment centre, and more practical skills-based workshops on writing CVs and cover letters, and interview skills.

Modules

Strategic Management and Leadership is concerned with the direction and scope of the organisation. This involves determining the purpose of the organisation, establishing objectives and formulating strategies to achieve the objectives. It predominantly explores how an organisation positions itself with regard to its changing environment, and in particular its competitors, in order to gain and sustain competitive advantage. This means that strategic management and leadership considers how an organisation?s internal resources and capabilities can be developed to meet the changing demands of customers, in such a way as to achieve the expectations and objectives of its stakeholders.

Course fees for UK students

PgDip Part-time £14,000. This includes tuition fees and endpoint assessment only. Under the Apprenticeship Levy scheme employers can fund apprenticeships for any new and current staff with the right to work in the UK and whose main place of work is England. Entry requirements

Candidates normally possess a first- or second-class UK honours degree (or international equivalent). Alternatively, we will consider a professional qualification (such as CIMA, ACA, ACCA) together with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification work experience. Other relevant qualifications, together with significant experience, may also be considered. Professional experience and personal qualities are equally important to us and each application is considered on its individual merit.
