The School of Modern Languages and Cultures is a great place to undertake your postgraduate research. We presently have over 40 research students, from the UK, mainland Europe and around the globe, carrying out PhD or MA work on topics as diverse as translation, literature, theatre, cinema, and photography, and participating in a variety of postgraduate activities, including dialogue days and research seminars. We welcome applications for students wishing to study for a PhD, or to undertake an MA by Research.
