Course Summary

Develop astute business acumen on an MBA focused on financial success. Our strategic perspective will help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to accelerate your career.

We’ll show you how to make growth decisions based on sound financial data. You’ll reflect on the global economy in bust and boom times and explore international markets as investments. You’ll also study a range of contemporary issues including globalisation, ethics and social responsibility.

We set our MBA teaching in an international context with examples taken from the global economy. You’ll take a strategic focus across the course and concentrate on the major decisions that organisations have to make to determine their overall direction.

Alongside finance, you’ll study the value of strategic human resources and marketing. You’ll look at case studies on innovation and the impact of the consumer. At the same time, you’ll also study contemporary business theory.

You don’t need a business or management degree to join us. Our students have varied work and academic experience often with a science or technology background.

Modules

Financial Decision Making briefly reviews the main financial information produced by organisations, before moving on and focusing on how this information can be used by managers. The module provides a platform for managers, developing from basic financial systems to evaluating financial information and its uses in making decisions. The module will allow you to reflect on some of the current critical debates about the role and positioning of financial information in organisations; being able to place financial information and decision-making in the wider context of organisations and their roles in society.
