Course Summary

Find out what it takes to make it to the top by studying Business Administration (Human Resource Management). Our strategic perspective will help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to make it to the top in HR.

You’ll discover how to grow a business using effective people management. We’ll help you explore the impact of a well-designed HR strategy and explore labour process theory.

Uncover the value of key financial data and strategic marketing. Gain insights from case studies on innovation and the impact of the consumer. You’ll study contemporary business theory and learn to challenge your own assumptions as you debate with business experts.

Haven’t got a business or management degree? No problem. Our students have varied work and academic experience, often with a science or technology background.

Strategy: Foundations and New Perspectives provides a critical, reflective and evaluative examination of historic and contemporary debates relating to business strategy and strategic planning. The module focuses on the decision-making process with regard to strategy formulation and implementation and contextualises and evaluates the process through examination of business approaches and practices. You will develop the ability to formulate and implement strategy in order to maximise organisational effectiveness and business performance. In addition, you will be encouraged to evaluate the impact and influence of sometimes complex strategic decisions and actions on a range of organisational stakeholders.
