2 Year
On this Masters in mental health nursing, you’ll learn how to deliver care to adults and children with physical, psychological, cognitive and behavioural needs which manifest when living with a mental health illness. You’ll care for people with a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and personality disorder. No two patients are the same. Each person will need individually-tailored education, treatment and guidance to manage their symptoms. Supervised work placements allow you to practice what you learn. As well as gaining core caring proficiencies, you’ll be able to work specifically with people who are experiencing mental health illness and distress. You’ll support their recovery, and lead change to improve care for this client group. Specialising as a mental health nurse will make you highly employable in this rewarding profession. By the time you graduate, you’ll have the knowledge and skills to help plan, coordinate and deliver care in a safe, compassionate and effective way. This course is not open to international students.
