BUS4047 Creating and Managing the Global Value Chain (20 Credits) - Core
Creating and Managing the Global Value Chain explores the frameworks and key thinking associated with operations and project management, particularly from a marketing perspective. The module is based upon the premise that, in order to be effective, organisations must design their processes to meet and exceed customer expectations. Adopting a marketing perspective, the module seeks to understand how the production of goods and services are influenced by the customer experience, and how failing to align operations with customer needs results in failure. You will explore the emerging complexity of managing operations that are capable of adding distinct value to the customer experience. Investigating why operations management is of strategic importance in designing and producing new goods and services, you will also consider project management frameworks as a critical tool in effectively managing the delivery of innovation.
