Course Summary

The Built Environment subject group comprises of around 70 staff working across the areas of Architectural Technology, Surveying and Civil Engineering. The design and maintenance of Built Environment infrastructure is critical to the functioning of society and activities in this area are increasingly governed by the need to operate in a sustainable manner. If we are to lessen the effects of climate change and our wider impact on the natural world, new approaches to the construction, operation and disposal of our built assets are required.

Entry requirements

We normally expect applicants to have at least a first- or second-class honours degree from a UK institution, or a qualification of an equivalent level. We may consider applicants who don't meet these academic requirements if they have extensive relevant experience.
