MA - Master of Arts
Interior Design
Overview
The Inchbald Master of Arts Architectural Interior Design course will further develop your knowledge and abilities in the creative and technical aspects of architectural interior design and in the skills associated with this level of study.
The course is an intensive blend of an academic and professional programme that will enable you to fully explore the theories and concepts behind your design work and the impact such considerations have on the final outcomes. You will deepen and develop your analytical appreciation of the design process and your understanding of the sensory perception of space which enables confident, skilful future careers in the field.
Project-based in-depth analysis of design ideas hones research skills and supports training and practices as relevant theories of place-making and perception are considered. The course is practical, allowing you greater autonomy in the choice of projects and the interpretation of design briefs, concluding with a self-selected and directed project in the postgraduate year.
There is a greater emphasis on the methodologies of investigation and deeper analysis of conceptual thinking, the evidence of which becomes apparent in creative work. This course will prepare you for the rigour of a competitive career and interaction with professionals at every level.
