Course Summary

The LLM Business Law course will develop your understanding of key areas in business law and international business law, undertaking case studies in a number of modules.

By completing this course, you will be able to...

  • Analyse and provide solutions to common problems arising in business law
  • Compare and contrast legislative and institutional rules on arbitration
  • Critically analyse the factors which currently shape Company Law as well accompanying policy considerations
  • Implement a wide awareness of Intellectual Property law, and the ability to apply it critically in a variety of contexts

Modules

This module provides students with a grounding in the background law needed to fully understand the legal landscape in which business law operates. This module has been designed to support both those with, and those without, a legal background. The assessments have been designed specifically to enable nonlawyer/legal background students to gain a firm grasp of legal writing, including syllogistic reasoning. Furthermore, this will ensure that lawyers/legal background students entering the course are refreshed in academic rigour, and stretched/challenged, in preparation to work as masters (FHEQ 7) level.
