Professional or Industry specific qualification
Law
The qualifications of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) are aimed at those wishing to qualify as a legal practitioner or move towards a career as a solicitor. This qualification is also available as a Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice.
Successful completion of the first year leads to the Level 3 Professional Certificate in Law and Practice upon successful completion of the second year you will be awarded the Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice. Level 3 is divided into two parts the Certificate and Diploma in Law and Practice. For further information, the CILEx Careers & Qualifications Guide is available to download at the foot of this page. Level 3 is a two year course. Five units are studied which include: Introduction to Law Legal Research Skills Contract law Civil Litigation Client Care Skills. Upon successful completion of all five units students will attain the CILEx Level 3 Professional Certificate in Law and Practice. Year 2 requires the completion of a further five units including: The Law of Tort Criminal Law Land Law Conveyancing Employment Law. Upon successful completion of all five units the student will attain the CILEx Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice. The course aims are for you to qualify as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, obtain access to the legal industry and/or to progress to the Solicitor's Legal Practice Course and qualify as a solicitor.
