COURSE OVERVIEW

This block-delivered course will offer an innovative programme of personal learning and will expose you to a diverse range of up-to-date business management and leadership theories. Designed to challenge your approach to business and leadership, this course will focus on the boardroom and your modules will enable you to build your confidence in devising alternative perspectives to create business opportunities.

You will develop into a highly skilled, flexible and adaptable leader with the expertise and tools to play a crucial role in facilitating the process of ethical and focused organisational change in order to improve the competitiveness of your organisation.

The design of this course will enable you to study alongside your employment and will provide you with leading management content and impactful delivery that can be directly applied to improve your professional performance. This dual approach will benefit both your learning and your business as you build new capabilities and talent to help your organisation move to new levels of success.

This programme will explore the challenges and responsibilities of working at executive level and the nature of personal authenticity, as well as the need to exhibit moral courage and resilience for decision-making and in the conduct of boardroom matters.

TEACHING & LEARNING

Independent study is a crucial part of learning at university and you will be required to undertake many hours of self-directed research and reading, and preparation and writing of assessments. Your course is delivered through a number of modules, which will help you to plan your time and establish a study routine. Outside of your lectures, workshops and tutorials, a range of support is available to assist with your independent study. Our subject-specific librarians will be on hand to direct you to the specialist learning and study-skill resources. You’ll also be assigned an academic advisor to give you tailored feedback and support.

Entry requirements

Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. You should also either be working in, or have a minimum of three years of previous work experience in, a role that includes management responsibility. Your personal statement should be a maximum of 400 words and include details of your relevant learning and experience and outline your aspirations and suitability for the course. All suitable applicants will be required to attend a short interview with the course team. All applications should be supported by two references, either academic or professional.
