In an increasingly interconnected global economy, all businesses have to compete within complex supply networks in order to survive and prosper. The effective management of supply chains and logistics is recognised as key to sustaining a company's competitive advantage, and this accredited course will enable you to successfully negotiate the uncertain economic environment now facing businesses across the world.
Tutored by industry specialists, you will develop your understanding of core business topics such as corporate strategy and the improvement of business processes, and you will become a skilled and knowledgeable procurement expert. Using established management tools and techniques, you will then be able to apply your knowledge of supply chain management and logistics to complex regional, national and international issues in a variety of settings.
If you are already a member of either of the accrediting bodies for this course, you could apply for accreditation of prior learning to gain exemptions from some modules.
You will use computer lab sessions to practice the use and manipulation of SAP software to produce business specific reports from a supply chain perspective.

Use a mixture of videos, reports, articles and journal papers to highlight current approaches and critique organisations' approaches to managing supply chains from an environmental perspective.
Develop a strategic organisational perspective as well as a basis for progression and application of strategic level skills, competencies, and decision-making capability.
Develop a critical and applied understanding of how business processes shape organisational performance across a range of sectors. This module explores the identification, analysis, and redesign of key processes, examining how they align with and influence strategic goals. You'll be introduced to contemporary approaches to operations management and performance measurement, teaching you how to design and evaluate systems that effectively capture process efficiency and impact.
Explore the role and responsibilities of the board and individual directors in terms of risk management. You'll study the people, processes and techniques that can be used to support the board in ensuring the effective assessment, monitoring and control of risk at all levels of an organisation. This module will introduce you to concepts, theories and models of risk in strategic decision making. You'll examine the elements, processes and techniques involved in the development and implementation of organisational strategy.
You will carry out an in-depth research project in a subject area that is appropriate to the course and of particular interest to you.
