PG Cert Coaching and Mentoring for Education Practitioners

Enhance your educational coaching and mentoring practice. New learning and insights will enable you to influence colleagues’ practice and improve the student experience.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Gain an informed and critical perspective on professional educational coaching and mentoring practices
• Investigate how coaches and mentors develop evidence-informed practice
• Engage in self-study to build your expertise as a coach and mentor, and enhance your teaching and leadership skills

• Understand how to foster collaborative working, and influence the educational practice of others to improve students’ learning experience
• Explore the pressures and opportunities that exist in contemporary education

You’ll reflect on your own work, as well as on shared practice with tutors and peers. You’ll enhance your ability to foster rapport with your students through skilful questioning and listening. The practice you build will nurture trust between you and your students.

Our teaching history

We have more than 100 years' experience of teacher training and you'll benefit from an experienced course team determined to help you realise your potential. You’ll become part of a supportive teaching community, learning from fellow students and swapping ideas on lesson plans, classroom experiences and teaching tips.

Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree in a cognate subject, at least a second class honours degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment.

All applicants should normally be working in an educational context to enable them to put into practice some of the strategies learned on the course.
