Course Summary

The programme aims to foster understanding of the complex influences on health policy and the interconnected nature of health issues that often transcend national borders in our ever-changing world. You will explore topics such as the economic, political and environmental impacts on health and global health policy, with opportunities to analyse and challenge policymaking, critically evaluate case studies and examine their relationship to global health policy in depth. Through a diverse suite of elective modules, you can focus on selected issues such as global mental health, health systems, specific infectious diseases and diverse areas of public health. The programme is designed to support you in developing foundational knowledge of multidisciplinary theories and approaches to the field of global health policy.

Entry requirements

A first or second class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject is required. Suitable disciplines include sciences (e.g. biology, medicine, nursing, pharmacy) and social sciences (e.g. anthropology, demography, economics, geography, law, sociology). Applicants who do not meet these requirements may still be admitted at LSHTMs discretion based on academic background, work experience, and references.
