Course info

As a research student you'll become part of our thriving academic community. Explore the staff, facilities and more at the Centre for Education and School Partnerships. A member of staff, expert in your chosen field, is directly responsible for guiding and supporting your research programme. Undertaking an MRes or PhD means making an original contribution to knowledge. They are distinct from a taught Masters in that your final output will be an extended dissertation or creative project relevant to your field of interest, rather than module-based coursework and exams. You can complete an MRes in one year or part-time over two years, as opposed to a full PhD which can take up to five years. Students are expected to self-direct their learning with support from a supervisory team.Full-time3 yearsJanuary; April; September
